Our involvement in other programmes

Master EMMIE

EMMIE is anMaster Erasmus Mundus en Impact entrepreneurship, co-organised by HEC Liège. The Centre for Social Economy offers the course ‘Financing Entrepreneurial Impact Opportunities’. This course looks at new ways of financing impact enterprises and presents methods for assessing social impact.

Sustainability and transition course

Several professors from the Centre for Social Economy have contributed to the cross-disciplinary “Sustainability and Transition” course, which is offered to all bachelor students at ULiège. The sessions they have been responsible for are as follows:

  • Alternative enterprises, a lever for transition (Frédéric Dufays)
  • The limits of the economic system (Sybille Mertens)
  • Globalisation and the challenges of global value chains (Virginie Xhauflair)

Summer school EMES

The Centre for Social Economy is regularly involved in organising the EMES Summer Training School. The aim of this event is to strengthen the theoretical and methodological skills of young researchers (Masters, PhDs, ERCs) and to provide them with networking opportunities.

Enzyme Certificate

The Enzyme University Certificate trains sustainable development consultants capable of supporting SMEs in their ecological, social and economic transitions. This intensive programme combines theoretical input, practical situations and exchanges with experts. Structured into three modules, the programme begins with an exploration of climate and biodiversity issues and the specific characteristics of Walloon SMEs, with a view to building a compelling case for action. It continues with a critical analysis of sustainable business models, using tools such as the donut economy and the strong/weak sustainability distinction. Finally, it provides practical methods for managing the transition, integrating standards, reporting, leadership and the transformation of management functions. In this way, the certificate helps to strengthen the Walloon transition ecosystem by promoting a strong sustainability approach. The Centre for Social Economy is co-coordinating this university certificate and is specifically in charge of the ‘What is a sustainable company? module and the ’Extra-financial reporting‘ and ’ODDs strategic diagnosis‘ workshops in the ’How to become a sustainable company" module.
